Cheryl Cole in charity scheme

Cheryl Cole launches charity scheme

Cheryl Cole meets Prince Charles at Clarence House

Cheryl Cole is to launch a charitable foundation in aid of the Prince’s Trust and has visited the Prince of Wales to tell him about it.

The pop star and the Prince met at Clarence House to discuss her plans to start the project in April.

It will provide vital funds for the Trust’s work in the singer’s home town of Newcastle and surrounding areas.

The Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge said she wanted her foundation to help youngsters fulfil their potential.

Cole, 27, said: “Too many young people grow up thinking no-one cares and don’t believe they can make anything of themselves.

“They have so much potential – but can go off the rails without the right care and support. I want my Foundation to help them realise their potential and get their lives on track.

“I have always been a great admirer of the work of the Prince’s Trust with disadvantaged young people across the UK. It’s the perfect charity for my Foundation to support.”

Charles’ flagship charity has been helping disadvantaged young people start up their own businesses, return to education or gain life skills since being founded by the royal in 1976.

It supports teenagers who may have struggled at school, are long-term unemployed, been in trouble with the law and or are leaving care.

More than three out of four young people helped by the Trust move into jobs, education or training, according to a Trust spokeswoman

It is being reported that Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell have left their judging positions on The X Factor.

It has been suggested that they are both heading to the US version of the show.

The judging panel will be left down to Louis Walsh and Danni Minogue, giving rise to rumours that the show is getting a revamp on its look.

Reports say that Jordan, Robbie Williams, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and British singer Adele could be their fill-in judges if they do go.

The X Factor live tour is currently heading around the country, kicking off in Birmingham.

Is Chezza Going To Be A Mentor Instead Of A Judge On American X Factor?

Simon Cowell May Have To Make Cheryl Cole A Mentor on US X Factor

Hmm...we definitely think she should be on the judges panel, but we could understand why execs would be more comfortable with her in this position!

Sources close to Simon Cowell have revealed that although he desperately wants Cheryl Cole to make the stateside transition with him to the US version of The X Factor, he may have to change her role to that of a mentor, similar to what Sinitta does on the UK edition of the reality competition!

The insider explains:
“Simon desperately wants Cheryl to be a judge but if that’s knocked back by Fox chiefs the next option is to start her as a mentor. It would be a way to test how she’s received in America. Plus viewers would be able to warm to her first, rather than having her thrust upon them by going straight on the panel. The truth is, nothing has been signed and the producers still aren’t convinced.”

Truthfully, we do agree that it’s a gamble – but it’s one that will DEFINITELY pay off!

Chezza just needs to get her feet wet with American audiences, and if that means as a mentor, then we could definitely get behind that!

But we would LOVE to see her ultimately as a judge!

What do U think?? What role should Chezza play on the US X Factor??

Simon Cowell ‘skips X Factor auditions’ as Cheryl Cole’s US role hangs in balance

Simon Cowell is reportedly missing the auditions stage on the UK X Factor as it emerges Cheryl Cole might have lost her slot on the US version of the show.

The music mogul is thought to be bowing out of the hit ITV show’s beginning stages and returning just for the live shows – just like he is doing for this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Cowell feels he has ‘a lot to prove’ with the US X Factor and wants to make sure it goes down a hit, according to the Daily Mail.

This news comes as it is also revealed that Cheryl Cole’s judging role on the American version of the talent show is in jeopardy as TV executives Stateside cast doubt on just how popular the Geordie lass is with American audiences.

And it’s not as though they’re short of top American stars to take her place either as rumours spread that Katy Perry and Rihanna are on the line-up to step into her shoes.

A source close to Cole told the newspaper: ‘It was thought the American job was a done deal but it seems the US executives have had a last-minute change of heart.

‘They are now questioning whether she’s famous enough in America.’

If American bosses do end up pulling out over cold feet, it’s likely to come as a huge blow to the 27-year-old Promise This singer as she has been house-hunting in LA for swanky pads near to Fox studios where the US X Factor is going to be filmed.

However, with little chart success from her Girls Aloud days and failing to impress US audiences with her debut solo album 3 Words, she probably knew she’d have a battle on her hands.

At least she has pal Simon on her side though. He is thought to be doing ‘everything in his power’ to persuade TV bigwigs Chezza would be the right choice.

But Simon has his own dilemma to deal with as on hearing that he would be missing the audition stages of the ITV talent show, UK bosses offered to pay for a private jet to take him to and from Los Angeles and London each week so he doesn’t miss out on either shows.

Being a self-confessed workaholic, though, it’s unlikely he’ll go for that option as it would entail lengthy periods of having no contact with his staff as well as having to cope with constant jet-lag.

Cheryl ‘looking at action roles’

Cheryl Cole headed for Hollywood?

Arrivals at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Berkeley Square, London, UK, on the 8th June 2010.

Geordie singer Cheryl Cole could reportedly be starring in a film to launch her career in the US.

The 27-year-old X Factor judge is allegedly researching the possibility of breaking into Hollywood.

A source told British newspaper the Daily Star: “Cheryl’s people are already looking into film roles for her.

“There is a belief in Hollywood that if you’re not in a movie you’re no-one and she knows that a part in a film could really launch her career over there.”

The source added: “They’re focusing on an all-action kick-ass role which would show her off in the best light.”
