Fearne in swimsuit crashes site

Fearne Cotton crashes Radio 1 website as she strips down to swimsuit

Arrivals at the 2010 Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Berkeley Square, London, UK, on the 8th June 2010.

The promise of Fearne Cotton in a swimsuit today crashed the BBC Radio 1 website.

People hoping to access the page for Chris Moyles’ Radio 1 show were confronted with an internal error message because the page was experiencing abnormal traffic.

Those viewing the live video stream were promised that Cotton, 29, would strip to a swimsuit between 10.10am and 10.30am should Moyles’s fundraising efforts reach £2 million.

Radio 1’s Twitter feed read: “The latest total is an amazing £2,406,648 and @fearnecotton is in the studio in her swimsuit for the next 10 minutes.”

As the station ended its Radio 1 More Moyles fundraiser, it added: “From Chris, Dave, the team and everyone at @BBCR1, we thank you for joining and supporting us over an amazing 52 hrs.”

Earlier today, Moyles and Dave Vitty broke the world record for Radio DJ Endurance Marathon.
