Chris Colfer is set to star in a new high school film

Glee star Chris Colfer is headed for the big screen, with a starring role in Struck By Lightning.

The actor, who won a Golden Globe gong for his portrayal of gay teen Kurt Hummel, will make his film debut in the high school comedy he wrote himself, said Variety.

Chris is said to be preparing to shoot it during his summer break from Glee.

Brian Dannelly is on board to direct, and Chris’ manager Glenn Rigberg will be executive producer.

Further details are being kept under wraps.

The 20-year-old previously starred in short film Russel Fish: The Sausage And Eggs Incident in 2009 and lent his voice to last year’s live action flick Marmaduke.
